Korean beef with kohl rabi kimchi

We had friends over, again. Lovely friends. Drink-lots and dance-all-night-long type of friends. The best kind of friends. I needed to feed them quickly and efficiently to make the most of everyone’s babysitter time. I call this Korean beef because it reminds me of something I ate in Korea but the authenticity of this is questionable… However, there’s a beautiful Korean beef marinade (with monodosium glutamate and all)! to be found at Sou Chef for when you don’t want to make your own. I marinated sirloin steak in my home made version for half a day before grilling the meat until medium rare.

Thinly sliced and placed in gem lettuce boats topped with kimchi – it was a tasty quick injection of salty and sweet and tangy – before the dancing could commence.
