Kathmandu

I arrived late at night and rode in a taxi along dusty, unpaved roads in the dark. On streets without people. It appeared to me like an abandoned ghost town. That all changed in the morning as I stepped out in to the area of Boudhanath stupa. Chanting monks and prostrating Tibetans walking around the stupa as the sun came up to the backdrop of atmospheric smoke, the rattle of spinning prayer wheels and hundreds of flying pigeons. I felt like I had stepped into a BBC documentary or maybe a movie set.
